Southeast Xlerator Network West Virginia University is a member of the Southeast XLerator Network, an effort funded by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) to grow the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Southeast IDeA state region.
Founded in 2018, the XLerator Network (XLN) is a partnership between XLerateHealth, a healthcare startup accelerator based out of Louisville, KY, and 24 Academic Institutions with the University of Kentucky serving as academic lead. XLN was created to support the commercialization of promising life science and healthcare innovation in the Southeast Institutional Development Award (IDeA) states.
The Southeast XLerator Network proposes to create a networked and easily accessible regional technology transfer accelerator hub (“XLerator H ub” or “Hub”) to share best practices, disseminate education content, and offer products, services, facilities, and other.
Through NOBIC, the Southeast Xlerator Network will provide expertise in technology transfer, engage leading industry partners, and promote an entrepreneurial culture throughout the region. It will also provide tools to help researchers compete for more Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants to advance research discoveries and launch new.
Dr. Mary Caldorera-Moore, an associate professor in Biomedical Engineering at Louisiana Tech, is one of seven researchers to win a grant from the Southeast XLerator Network (XLN) to continue.
The Southeast XLerator Network proposes to create a networked and easily accessible regional technology transfer accelerator hub (“XLerator Hub” or “Hub”) to share best practices, disseminate education content, and offer products, services, facilities and other resources connected through both physical and online platforms for innovators and trainees in the Southeast IDeA states.
The newly created Southeast Xlerator Network will boost biomedical technologies in the NIH’s Southeast Institution Development Award (IDeA) region, which includes Louisiana, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and West Virginia.
